One thing I'd like to see is the format given a rethink in 2010.
Obviously 45 minute episodes are here to stay (although I'd like to see the length extended to 50 minutes or even 60 minutes regularly), but I'd like to seem them ditch the current mixture of stand alone episodes and multi-parters. Go back to a more traditional style, with the season being made up of 5x two parters and 1x three parter.
A large part of what made Doctor Who unique to me was its format, including the serial-like cliffhangers. The current "America-lite" format of the series has never sat easy with me.
I do not believe that such a change would lose the series viewers. Indeed, with a cliffhanger ending every other episode, I feel it would engender the plebs to stay with the programme even more, as they will want to find out how its resolved. Just like in the old days.
