Postby vector-victor on Sat Nov 07, 2009 12:45 am

Lionsgate are currently casting for a new Conan the Barbarian flick. Unfortunately
it seems to be a rehash of the Milus one,and the fans ain't happy..

As if a new Conan film would be as good as the Milius one ....

Argh! What's up with these people! Make an adaptation of Red Nails, you Hollywood lunatics! Do they not have a clue? Have they never read the original stories? Do they not know Red Nails is the definitive Conan story by a million miles?

Yeah. I've been re-reading a lot of Howard's work recently, and I can't see why any sensible person wouldn't want to adapt one of the
original Conan stories. In fact, most of his best work would make good films-I can see "Worms of the Earth","The Black Stone"
or "The House of Arabu" becoming good dark fantasy flicks. But Conan really needs the equivalent of
Alfonso Cuarón or Peter Jackson to make the stories come to life on the screen.

There's a Solomon Kane film being made too. All I know about it is Alice Krige is starring :thumbsup
(but not as Kane-that would far be too weird :wtf ).

Pex's worst nightmare:

Uwe Boll has confirmed he will be directing a film of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser from a Russell T. Davies script.
"I think Tom Cruise and Adam Sandler will be excellent as the two heroes", Boll disclosed.

I'd prefer Conan The Barber

"Gallic Perms & Sideburns Were His Calling Card!!"

Rumours of a UK TV version of Conan? Strange but maybe
true-and with a DW connection to boot!
